Queens HS for Information Research and Technology (QIRT) has been working to mitigate food insecurity in the Far Rockaway community since September. Each week, QIRT serves Grab&Go grocery packages to up to 100 families with more than 50% of those families returning multiple times. The service promotes healthy eating, so Community School Director Rasahn Staley reports fresh produce is included.
