Shavon Frazier from PS/IS184 in Brooklyn captivated the crowded, including Schools Chancellor David C. Banks, state Board of Regents Chancellor Lester Young and other key education policymakers at the UFT’s “Listen Up! The reality is…” panel. Frazier explained, “The amount of growth that my children have experienced from September to now is amazing, The love they have for reading, they’re challenging me to challenge them more, because I’m able to cover more content this year than I’ve had in the past when I’ve had more children. So yes, we do need to decrease class size, not only for us as educators, but more importantly for the children and families we serve each and every day.”
