NEA President Praises United Community Schools for Transforming Communities
School visits to PS 52 in Queens demonstrate the effectiveness of United Community Schools’ approach.
Kudos to Community School Director Tanisha A’See, Social Worker Jessica Morales and the entire school team at PS 52, where National Education Association (NEA) President Becky Pringle spent quality time with the educators, parents and students on Nov. 22 during her multi-city Joy, Justice & Excellence tour. She tweeted that United Community Schools staff “not only provide support for students, but they also offer hope, opportunity, and transformation to entire communities.”
On Oct. 15, New York State Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie, Queens District 31 Assemblyman Khaleel Anderson and Emmanuel Lubin from the NYC Department of Education’s Office of Community Schools came to see firsthand how the PS 52 team supports the academic enrichment and mental wellness interventions.
