Journalism students from Gotham Professional Arts Academy were given a rare opportunity to tour the headquarters of The New York Times. Following the visit, students mailed handwritten thank-you notes to their tour guide through USPS.

Their journalism teacher, Amelia Parker, later received an email in response, praising the students’ letters as a “lovely, touching, heartening, and impressive collection.” The tour guide added, “I have never before—in four years of leading tours—received such a moving tribute.”

Thanks to the students’ thoughtful gesture and strong impression, the school has already been invited back for another visit next year.
