Community School Director Diana Veliz at IS 96 in Brooklyn showcases virtual and in-person students learning and creating together. Making strategic use of funding to support the arts while working within social-distancing requirements, every single student — remote and in-person — received drumsticks and a drum pad. The full band and strings group performed during a Zoom event highlighting the learning that has taken place this historic year with support from United Community Schools.
